Oh, AmberDawn, I understand you completely! I am ALWAYS apologizing to my children. I’ve been saddened by the same thing too…how I have turned my blessings into curses. I am also amazed at their level of forgiveness too. Not that I like to see it in action so much for my sake, but I hope that through my failures and repentance that they will be better men and women than their parents are.

Thank you for sharing your heart once again. I believe this is something we all struggle with, including (maybe especially so) the hypocrisy. It is a moment by moment choice we make and sometimes we fail. I fail too, regularly, as you know. I just want you to know how blessed I am to be your friend and to be able to speak our hearts about being wives and mothers. It’s not easy all the time and it’s helpful to know we are not alone in our actions,feelings, & struggles (BLESSINGS TOO!!!). Not that it makes anything right or better, but we will know how to pray for one another and as we hold one another up in prayer HE will continue to refine us and make us into His image. It’s a journey.

2 Corinthians 12:9 ~ But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

May Christ’s power rest on you today friend!!! I will be holding you up in prayer.

This scripture popped out at me this morning regarding God’s love for Israel and I thought this is how our love for OUR children should be:

Hosea 11:4 ~ I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them.

Wow. I have never even heard of EC. We did use the “potty training in one day” method with two of my children and loved it.

Really well done, AmberDawn. I’ve never EC’d, although I am familiar with the concept. Meanwhile, I’m struggling with a three-year-old who just isn’t interested in the toilet at all.

I don’t know whether some people EC’d on the Oregon Trail, but I have read that some people would just take the wet diapers, dry them out, and re-use them — without washing! Poor babies!
